README
I study climate politics because I believe it is characterized by some of the most pressing coordination problems of our time. Many of the most interesting puzzles in political science and economics can be illustrated by climate change. Right now I am interested in how actors form climate policy preferences, from local communities faced with clean energy projects to countries seeking to form climate agreements.
I am very optimistic about the use of AI in research. I think it opens up new opportunities for data collection and coding, and drops the barrier to entry to data analysis. I like when people use their own brains to write about the work they’ve done with AI, and I probably won’t read or give feedback on anything that is AI-written.
I try to hold my views loosely. If I ever write or say something you think is incorrect, please reach out to me and let me know.
I love discussing research and observations about the world around us that inspire future research. Please feel welcome to email or book office hours.
In my free time, I enjoy developing video games. I think it’s one of the best ways to learn programming and express yourself. You can play some here. My favorite games are Deltarune, Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, and Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
I play piano but cannot read sheet music, so my repertoire is limited and conditional on muscle memory. I’d like to learn more about music theory and composition in the future.
My favorite album is A Matter of Time by Laufey, and I proudly barricaded the tour in Toronto and Adelaide, South Australia. My favorite song is You Only Live Once by The Strokes, but particularly this version which borrows lyrics from the I’ll Try Anything Once demo.
